Your data & account deletion

How to get a copy of everything Sai Vani holds about you, how to close your account, and exactly what is erased when you do.

Effective 6 October 2026

Deleting your account from the app

Deleting it without the app

Write to admin@saisamsthana.org from the email address on the account, or tell us the mobile number the account was created with. We check that the request is yours and close the account within 30 days, usually the same week. If you want the account record itself removed as well — see the next two sections for what that means — say so in the same message and we will do that instead.

What is erased

Everything you wrote or told Sai Vani about yourself, permanently and with no recovery period:

This is not a hidden or recoverable state. The rows are deleted, and nobody at the samsthana — including an administrator — can read them afterwards or bring them back.

What we keep, and why

Closing your account does not make the samsthana forget that you were a devotee here. One record of the account itself is kept, marked closed, and it holds these and nothing more:

Who the account wasYour name, mobile number, email address, country and language — and its gender, date of birth and occupation, where they were given — as they stood when you closed it. This is the samsthana's record of the devotees it has served.
Its dates and its planThe day you joined, the day you closed it, whether you closed it or an administrator did, and any reason given.
What it held, as numbersHow many journal entries, prayers and conversations there were. The counts survive; not one word of what was in them does.
PaymentsEvery payment you made for minutes, with its date and amount, and the ledger of minutes granted and spent. A payment is a receipt, and a receipt is the temple's record as much as yours — it is what a refund or a question about an amount is settled from, and the books are audited against it.
Referral rewardsRewards you had already earned, with the postal address given for the parcel, kept until the parcel has been sent and received.

Your mobile number is released the moment the account closes. You may open a brand-new account on the same number whenever you like, and it starts completely empty — nothing from the closed account is carried into it, shown in it, or linked to it in any way.

If you want the record itself gone too — your name and number removed entirely, not only marked closed — write to admin@saisamsthana.org and say so. We will do it, subject only to anything the law obliges us to keep. That is your right under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and asking for it costs you nothing.

What is beyond our reach, and for how long

Database backupsOverwritten on a 30-day cycle, so a deleted account is gone from the backups within 30 days.
Devotees you referredTheir accounts are theirs, and are untouched. Your referral code stops working the moment your account closes, so nobody new can join on it.
Emails already deliveredOur email provider’s delivery logs age out on its own schedule, typically within 30 days.
Records the law requiresIf we are legally obliged to keep something, we keep only that, only for as long as required, and use it for nothing else.

Taking a copy first

This cannot be undone, so take a copy before you go: Settings → Privacy & Data → Email me my data sends a file with your profile and everything you have written to the email address on your account. Once the account is closed that door is shut — the writing is gone and there is nothing left to send.
