Your data & account deletion

How to get a copy of everything Sai Vani holds about you, and how to have all of it erased.
Deleting your account from the app
Open the app and sign in.
Go to Settings.
Under Account, tap "Delete my account".
Confirm. The account is erased straight away and you are signed out.
Deleting it without the app
Write to privacy@saisamsthana.org from the email address on the account, or tell us the mobile number the account was created with. We check that the request is yours and erase the account within 30 days, usually the same week.
What is erased
Everything held against your account, permanently and with no recovery period:
Your profile: name, mobile number, email address, gender, date of birth, occupation, country and language.
Every prayer and sankalpa, and every journal entry.
Every conversation with the companion, on both Talk to Sai and Share My Sorrow.
Seva logs, reading progress, streaks, bookmarks and oracle draws.
Your membership of any family circle, and any circle you own along with its messages.
Your referral code, your remaining credits, every referral reward you have earned with its postal address and delivery state, and the dates on which devotees joined using your code.
What remains, and for how long
Database backups
Overwritten on a 30-day cycle, so a deleted account is gone from the backups within 30 days.
Devotees you referred
Their accounts are theirs, and are untouched. The link back to you is removed, so they stop counting toward any reward. Rewards you had already earned go with the account, including the addresses on them.
Emails already delivered
Our email provider’s delivery logs age out on its own schedule, typically within 30 days.
Records the law requires
If we are legally obliged to keep something, we keep only that, only for as long as required, and use it for nothing else.
Taking a copy first
Deletion cannot be undone, so take a copy before you go: Settings → Privacy & Data → Email me my data sends a file with your profile and everything you have written to the email address on your account.
